Much maligned former President Jimmy Carter, you know Mr. Peanut, was awarded the Nobel Prize “for his ‘untiring effort’ to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts and to advance democracy and human rights.”
Carter seems to be able to empathize with people who truly want to do right and he seems to be able to steer them where they truly want to go but don’t know how to get there. On his dealings with regimes that simply wanted to wreak havoc and cause mayhem, such as Iran and Congress, he seemed to perpetuate his own stereotype as a rube.
Still though, what he has done on international and domestic fronts since he left the White House should be a shining light not only for other leaders to follow, but for all of us.
