Actually, it isn’t. It’s just my luck.
I’m no gambler, but I play the Virginia lottery regularly. A chance at quitting work, going back to school, and starting another career keeps me motivated. So I was very excited when I picked up a cool $150 a few weeks ago. Man, was I excited. It’s the most I’ve ever won. One number short of either $5,000 or $175,000.
Then I saw the lottery Web site. A guy from Greensboro, no less, had a ticket for $175,000 in his pocket for three weeks before he realized he had some cold, hard cash coming to him. That’s how my luck’s been running lately. No date to the dance for me.
I hope he enjoys it. I sure would have.
