Pete Nicholas, chairman of Boston Scientifc, and his wife, Ginny, recently gave Duke University $72 million on the final day of the school’s fund-raising campaign, bringing the drive to an enviable $2.36 billion conclusion. They did it on Dec. 31.
That’s a heck of a tax write-off.
