Attention! Rant coming…
If I were the king of even my own world, I’d make it mandatory for everyone I trained to sign a disclaimer waiving all actions against me for failure to properly educate them because of their laziness or inattention during the inadequate few hours I have to work with them.
Penalties would include paying me a dollar for every stupid-a** question that I can predict will come up plus a dollar for every complaint from a supervisor that the employee wasn’t properly trained when said supervisor basically didn’t care if the employee was trained or not.
Also, advocating training someone on a complicated system with bare minimum PC skills should be punishable by making the employee AND supervisor live without IT support for a specified period of time determined by IT support depending on the severity of the lack of PC skill.
