We watched the movie “13″ tonight. I thought I was going to have to tranquilize Susan. This is a tale so far over the edge I was sort of dispassionate about it.
It reminded me a lot of ESPN’s “Playmakers” which portrayed a fictional football team experiencing every conceivable problem the writers could come up with: homosexuality, substance abuse, wanton sex, etc., etc.
In fact “13″ parallels “Playmakers” quite a bit. It’s the worse that could happen. Well, almost.
I kept assuring Susan that this isn’t what we have to look forward to at 13 with two girls. I told her we had them on the right path.
Let’s hope so.
Note: The National Football League was not a fan of the show. Not wanting to strain its lucrative relationship with the league, ESPN cancelled “Playmakers.” You gotta pay the bills, baby.
