There’s a bug in my soup

A Dynopeptic Germ must have taken up residence in me. Lethargic, sore throat, congested. And now, cough.

And, of course, the medical system being what it is today, I couldn’t get a doctor’s appointment until tomorrow.

Lovely.

You know, doctors used to make house calls. Now they rail at the insurance companies and HMOs for costing them money. Yet, they schedule themselves for every 15 minutes, driving up revenue. And they don’t want anybody suing them when they make a mistake.

Can you say self insure?

And here’s another question: What would happen if they dropped HMOs? Aren’t they a new phenomenon?

More general practioners, fewer specialists (it’s where the money is, you know).

Just a thought.
