If my dynamic DNS hasn’t moved and if the local cable company can keep our connection going for at least 24 hours, I invite all my fair readers over to my new spot (under construction) on the Web. Click here.
I’ve got a Web server running now and I’m — hopefully — going to move away from Blogger — which, by the way, seems to be getting slower and slower.
I’m using WordPress, an open source app like Movable Type. It’s built on a mySQL database.
My total outlay — less than 100 bucks. Using a Blue & White G3 400 Mhz Power Mac and Mac OS X, I’m able to do this because the OS (like XP) comes with a Web server — Apache.
I had some issues with installation (which I’ll detail later), mostly because the detailed instructions I found on the Web, well, missed a couple of details. And the fixes weren’t easy to find.
I’m working on a migrating my Blogger posts over to WordPress.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get to that soon, after I finish my last class at Elon for the winter session on Monday. I get a week’s break.
Give me feedback here or on the new site.
And thanks for reading.
