Seems that Lex has cornered Dave Winer for a FREE blog get-together at our place.
Sounds like a winner. But I’ve got some questions for him about his other project. Dave and former MTV VJ Adam Curry are the godfathers of podcasting. I heard an NPR report on the phenomenon just this week.
What’s a podcast? You record your ramblings and post them to the Internet where the legions of iPod users (I’m soon to be one!) – and users of other MP3 players – can download YOU to their ‘Pods and listen to you rant, rave or play your favorite music (homemade of course; we don’t want to get into any licensing issues here). Some podcasters record in their cars on the way to work and some do it in their own homes.
Podcasting is pretty much only six months old and Curry’s already tired of doing interviews about it.
There are no subscriptions fees and no costs. NPR described it as TiVo for the radio. The BBC, some public radio stations and even some religious organizations are podcasting.
Podcasting. Google it, baby, then head to the Apple Store and buy yourself a ‘Pod.
