One of my favorite movie characters is the drug kingpen Marsellus Wallace, played by Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction His soliloquy on pride will always resonate with me:
The night of the fight, you may feel a slight sting. That’s pride f******* with you. F*** pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps.
Tonight, he’s wrong.
Let me shout from the mountaintop, I’M PROUD OF MY WIFE!!!
Today, she was handed her third consecutive Carl K. Bell Editing Award by the North Carolina Associated Press. That’s her third straight against competition from the top newspapers in this state.
And to think, when I met her she didn’t even WANT to be an editor!
Uh, she just got home from the press awards. I need to go help her celebrate.
