Prose drought

It’s been awhile (thanks for waking me up Billy) since my last post. I’ve been deep in thought over career, school, family, finances, you name it.

I’ve also gone back to my roots in news in a few different ways by working on:

While I’ve also been working on my regular duties:

Besides what I’ve been doing with school and family, it’s been b-u-s-y.

One of the projects that’s kept me and “the wife” busy: We had to put up a shelf track system in our closet because the other one broke and put a big hole in the wall. Project Susan was on the case, of course.

Wait! You haven’t been introduced to Project Susan. She’s my wife’s alter ego. The one driven toward home improvement at any cost. Her motto? Everything needs improving.

Nothing stops Project Susan.

Once the old shelf came down, nothing else was done that wasn’t related to fixing the closet. Project Susan has not reared her hard hat for some time. Kids can do that to you. Prior to the kids, Project Susan dominated our lives.

My most vivid memory? When Project Susan spent days hacking and pulling out a bush in the front yard at our first house. The cost? She sustained several injuries on that one, including — if I remember correctly — a huge gash in her hand. But she would not be denied.

Luckily, once a project is done, I get the old Susan back. Sort of.

You see, it’s the same kind of passion she puts into work. Hence the accolades.
