Supporting a friend: Vol.2

There’s a beauty to blogging in that it provides a forum for all. But mainly, blogs are about conveying information.

A friend from work had a family crisis a few weeks ago. Her nephew had a tumor the size of a tennis ball taken out of his nasal cavity. Peter is almost 9, but weighs only 48 lbs, so it was a bit of a trick getting the tumor out.

Her brother in Winston-Salem set up a blog for her sister-in-law to post updates to try to keep friends and family up to date. The blog even became a personal log, allowing the boy’s mother to keep up with “appointments, reminders to pick up the cat, personal agonies, actual 3-D CT scans viewable, photos, etc.”

But, now that the everything has worked out for the best (Yeah!), they plan to take the blog down soon, “feeling that they want to put the whole thing behind them and Peter.”

Show them some love an encouragement, and let them know that they’re welcome in the blogging community.

By the way, the CT images are very cool, I’m told. Unfortunately, I can’t see them on my Mac right now. The AVI file has a codec I don’t have installed.
