Birthday wishes and caviar dreams

We spent the past weekend at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club, our first time away together from either kid for more than a night in five years. It was a retreat for the UNCG Alumni Association Board of Directors, which I joined this month.

It turned into a great birthday celebration for the both of us. While I sat it meetings with a bunch of wonderful people, Susan got the chance to shop, play pool and sit by the pool.

She beat me at foosball (twice). We split a couple of games of pool (She has her own cue, but didn’t bring it on this trip).

Despite embarrassing me in front of a bunch of people I didn’t know well, it was a whole lot of fun.

And only a couple of days before her birthday! Today is Susie’s birthday. So, in the great tradition of my family, a birthday song for my wonderful wife. (Note: Song link will launch iTunes.)
