Pic of the week, 09.08

This week’s pic is one of our all-time favorites. Every day these girls make us laugh, shake our heads in disbelief and wonder how we ever existed before these wonderul beings came into our lives.

The picture is so appropriate today as Camille reaches a milestone: She ends her time in the 3-year-old class and moves into the 4-year-old classroom. I take a big gulp as a type this next part — and prepares to go to kindergarten next year!

She’s been so ready to move up. She’s missed all her little friends who’ve moved into the 4-year-old room.

There’s also another huge event happening: The kids move out of the “cottages” — trailers they’ve been in for the past year — and back into the main building. They’ve been out of their school because of a massive fixit project brought on because of structural problems associated with the initial construction. Suffice it to say it involved a lawsuit and lots of ugliness.

This picture deserves music. I’ll supply the lyrics; you can supply the tune. And I know you know it:

We Are Family
Sister Sledge

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

Everyone can see we’re together
As we walk on by
And (Fly) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won’t tell no lie
(All) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We’re giving love in a family dose

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing (sing it to me)

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

Living life is fun and we’ve just begun
To get our share of the world’s delights
(High) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal’s in sight
(We) no we don’t get depressed
Here’s what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won’t go wrong, oh-no
This is our family Jewel

We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up everybody and sing

I LOVE these family blogs!! I’m saving this one and “Oh Rhett” in a special folder. Thanks for the words to the song; I never knew all of them!
