Eddie sent me photos last week, but I’ve been remiss in putting them on the Web. He writes:
As things begin to return to “normal” I got a chance to walk around at a working marina. This marina is about a mile from where I am staying. Some pics that convey the awesome power of the water. It picked these tugs and pilot boats up like toys and deposited them on the bank.
As Hurricane Rita bears down on the Gulf Coast region, let’s remember those that are still homeless and missing loved ones.
We hope the folks in the path of this next hurricane make it to safety.
BTW, if Ramblin’ Prose goes down for awhile, it’s because the company hosting us now is in Houston. They assure us they’ve got good backups. Let’s hope so.

Are these pictures from Kremer Marine in Gulfport? Or are they from the marina on the gulf/Jones Park/Marine Life area?
It’s true that after a big storm you can’t recognize the usual landmarks but the trees and fencing pictured look like Kremer marine on Lorraine Road in Gulfport.
Glad to find your blog.
Praying for all those in the path of Rita.
Howdy StCasserole and welcome.
These photos were sent to me. If Eddie’s got an Internet connection and can read the blog, he may post where they’re from. I’ll shoot him an e-mail, too.
I just got word that Rita has broken a levy in New Orleans. That poor city.
Let’s hope Rita keeps moving ’cause if it stalls, it’ll be ugly.
If Lorraine crosses Cresote Road than that is it. This marina is right off I-10 at the airport exit.
