For years after basic training, I would run or walk and sing cadence. Sad, don’t you think?
I’m finally starting to forget most of them. But I thought I’d pull out this pic and show you how good I was at it.
This is from July ’85 when I graduated from basic training in Fort Dix, N.J. Wow, that’s 20 years ago!
Thank goodness there’s no need for that haircut again.
I still pull out my medals and such every now and again. I spent my six years in the Guard and finished up a sergeant (E5 for you military types).
There’s a whole series of pics my uncle took, including one of something that was roundly non-military (I don’t think the woman would have appreciated me putting that pic up, though).
