Karate kid strikes again

Say hello to our new blue belt. Abby’s been working really hard the past few weeks to learn her kata.

It’s been quite awhile since she got her green belt. It’s partly been because we’ve cut back to one session a week which can be attributable to me going back to school.

We knew last week she’d be promoted. Sensei Hudson (pictured) thought it would be great to wait for both Susan and me to be there with a camera when she was presented with her blue belt.

I can’t really describe the size and scope of the smile she had when sensei announced that she had passed her test, but let me say it had mega wattage.

There really are no words to describe how great this school is. The kids and the adults are first rate and they form a really tight bond with each other.

To illustrate, after class and after the girls took off with Susan, I was walking back to the van. One of the young boys in Abby’s class, a yellow belt, stopped me and said, “Abby’s father, please tell Abby congratulations on getting her blue belt.”

I’m so glad she started this and continues to love it.
