Former News & Record staffer (advertising department) Ellen Lloyd left the paper pretty much when I started.
We caught up again this summer during a board meeting where I met her husband Lee Lloyd, a local attorney.
Ellen’s a writer and publisher now. Her first children’s book, “Freckles,” is out. She’ll be doing a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Greensboro on Dec. 2.

Interesting. We’ve got “Freckles”; I didn’t realize Ellen had worked at the N&R.
