The Renaissance

Nikon CoolpixClick the camera image and you’ll get to see some of our pictures from The Carolina Renaissance Festival this past weekend.

This marks the second year we’ve gone. The girls have had a blast each time. We didn’t do the elephant ride this time, though.

They were really excited about the jousting. There were three “generals” vying for control of the English army. We sat on the side that rooted for the knave, but he was coolest character.

The huge turkey legs were awesome again. And the cinnamon pecans and almonds didn’t last long.

There are festivals throughout the country, including one in Raleigh, but we really enjoy the one near Charlotte.

By the way, if you move your cursor over the images, you’ll see some short text about the pictures.

The face painting was neat! But, uh, you KNOW this is going to make them want tatoos!

We’ve got one begging for pierced ears right now. Let’s hope it stops there. :-)

First the ears. Then second holes in the ears. THEN the upper ear.

    THEN the BELLY-BUTTON.

    THEN THE NOSE.

We stopped at the second holes in the ears. Mr. Wonderful told her she could get the others when he was dead. Her response? “Mom? What are you doing after Dad’s funeral?”

    Smart ass.
