We have issues in the mornings.
The girls get up and get ready just fine. But when it comes time for Camille to put on clothes, well, let’s just say the monster in her comes out.
You see she’s very particular about what she puts on. She must always be “fashionable.” In fact, “I want to be fashionable,” is her second most uttered phrase next to, “Daddy, can I have a treat?”
I’m pretty much the one who deals with the fashionista in the mornings. There are certain days when I must defer to Susan (“Hey, get in here and dress this kid before she goes to school naked!”).
What gets to me the most is the variety of cute things she has to wear from family and the hand-me-downs from Abby. There are gorgeous clothes with the tags still on them that she refuses to wear. But she has about six outfits she must wear in rotation.
One is a black mini-skirt with pleats, white long-sleeve dress shirt with a scalloped collar and a red sweater with black faux fur collar. We accessorize with black tights and black shoes.
The outfit: size 24 months.
She’s 4 years old.
I can break the haute couture impass inexplicably sometimes by offering up a pair of blue jeans and her favorite cheerleader shirt. Yes, that shirt is 24 months, too.
She’s a very sweet girl. She’s our little cuddle bunny, whom we refer to as our “lap baby” because she spends so much time curled up with one or the other of us.
What you see in this pic of the week is my take on our darling daughter in the mornings sometimes.
The thing I can’t explain is she wouldn’t come within 10 feet of me during Halloween when I wore this mask. And when I took it off and showed it to her, she still broke down in tears.
Funny how fast they grow up.

Yes, they do! Thanks for sharing the story and picture.
Hugs,

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! Her grandmother and her (departed) great grandmother love(d) to be fashionable.
Her mom does, too.
I too wear the same 6 outfits over and over, though none are fashionable. OK, fine. Same 3 outfits.
