Balloon wranglerThe holiday parade has been part of Susan’s life for the past three years, when work started sponsoring a balloon.

The big dog with a newspaper in his mouth made its second appearance in three years. Last year, it was Clifford The Big Red Dog munching on a News & Record.

Says Susan:

“I love doing it. It makes people happy.

“Those of us on the news side aren’t always treated with happiness when we arrive somewhere. You go out with this balloon and everybody’s happy to see you, and you’re greated with a smile.

“And I can be a hero to my kids once a year.”

Darlin’, you’re always a hero to us.

I’ll post some more pics I took (I didn’t take this one) later. New class started tonight, so I’m back to the grind for a few weeks.

    Great picture of Susan:
I bet that wrangling that baloon is easier
    than wrangling Abby and Camile.

    Love, Jane & Tom

Thanks, guys. I love doing it, though my neck and shoulders ache for a day or so afterward. The hard part is standing there holding that rope in the cold for two hours before the parade starts! Take it from an experienced balloon wrangler: suede gloves, three layers of clothes and work boots.
