“Grocery” Game on!

Here’s a challenge for you: Find a way to save $1,000 on groceries. Game?

I was in the allergy office with Abby and Camille tonight and noticed an article in “Money” called, “Shave $150 a week off your grocery bill.”

The premise of the article is that you (meaning me AND you) waste too much food because we over-buy and waste the extra. The author gives several ways to save:

  • use what you have
  • make lists
  • shop online

But what caught my eye was to play the Grocery Game. It’s a Web site started in 2000. You get a weekly list of products on sale locally that are crossed-referenced with coupons in your Sunday paper, according to the author.

The catch? You pay $10 for an eight-week subscription, but just $1 for a four-week trial.

I’m game, or will be soon. How about you? If you do try it or have tried it, let us know how you fair.

I saw that Grocery Game thing and went online to find out about it. When I saw you had to pay for it I decided to not bother. It’s kinda like seeing the ad that says, “Make thousands in one week, send $1.00 to find out how.” Then you send in your dollar and they tell you to place an ad that says, “Make thousands in one week, send $1.00 to find out how.”

If our grocery bill was $150.00 a week I couldn’t afford to eat and you know I’m a fat boy.

The Blogosphere is secretly being taken over by poets and I’m in on the conspiracy.

    JW,

I think I’m going to give it a try next month. I’ll give an update then.

I used to be a ready of Money and I have good confidence in what they write being helpful.

    Stay tuned…

Billy, it ain’t easy being a starving poet. :-)
