We strive for great prose here. And there’s nothing like a child’s words, mostly spoken but sometimes written, to make a lasting impression on a parent.
With that in mind, Abby made a couple of cards for Mother’s Day. One she asked me to hide, and I did. Very well. Ur, a little too well because I couldn’t find it on Sunday. I just found it tonight!
The other one she kept hidden and gave it to Susan on Sunday.
This one made Susan smile, at first, then guffaw when she opened it. It’s a huge 11×17 piece of pink cardboard paper folded in half with two Abby-drawn hearts at the top and a short, squat vase that was cut from a white piece of paper and pasted below. In the vase are three clip art flowers that were cut out and colored. You can put them in and take them out of the vase. The vase and flowers drew the smile.
Inside, Abby wrote "to the sweetes mother ever…" on the left. On the right, is a pasted sheet of paper titled, "My Mom is Special!" which is typed with some sentences that Abby completed, such as "My Mom is special because…"
Abby finished: "…she is a good mommy and a good gardner."
The third sentence begins, "My Mom can do many things! I think she’s best at…"
Abby finished: "…taccing car of boobs."
She meant taking care of booboos.
I hope. Or was she talking about me? Hmm…

Thanks for the chuckle! Great finish Herb!!
Love it!!
HAHA!! Later in life she is going to get a good hard laugh out of that one. You make sure you save that!!!
We saved all of the Bundles’, bundles, and recently went through them. Bundle #2 exclaimed, “I’m retarded,” and Bundle #3, who recently completed a class in “Art Therapy,” announced, “I suggest you guys [referring to Mr. Wonderful and me] get some bulletproof vests and sleep in shifts.”
