Beta software

Just downloaded OmniPlan and I’m ready to test it.

I’m geeking out this week. I wasn’t really looking for PM software but happened upon this when I was looking at Delicious Library.

I love Omni Group’s OmniOutliner and OmniGraffle.

I’ve wanted to try FastTrack Schedule. I’ve read how much more user-friendly FastTrack is than Microsoft Project (and less expensive, too), but alas, IT departments have sold their souls to the Redmond company despite a higher cost of ownership IMHO.

Bet I can teach Abby how to use OmniPlan.

    I’ve wondered for years why state- and local government systems, particularly state-university systems, didn’t just switch completely to open source. The biggest concern — support — is right there for free (or, to be technically accurate, already being paid for) on most campuses, and your cost of acquisition/licensing drops from six, seven or eight digits a year (for large systems) to zero.

    I, for one, suspect the Evil Redmond Mind Meld ….
