Five years ago, Camille took our breath away. So small and so sick, she stayed in the hospital for a week before we could bring her home. We didn’t breathe until we put her in the car and finally took her home.
Today, she takes our breath away by making us laugh constantly. Or driving us nuts.
Both our small wonders keep us happy and whole, and we couldn’t be more thankful for them if we tried.
Camille took advantage of her birthday by prefacing every request with, “‘Cause I’m the birthday girl!”
She really knows how to work the system.
I even relented and made her a “special” birthday turkey and cheese sandwich for dinner instead of giving her meatloaf. (If you ever had my meatloaf, you’d know that she got the short end of the stick. Just ask Susan).
Someday we’ll unleash the wrath of Camille on the rest of the world, but for right now, we’ll keep her all to ourselves.
Happy birthday, sweetie.

That child needs to be in pictures NOW, so that you and Susan can begin enjoying the lifestyle to which I know you hope to become accustomed.
