How far would you go to keep the peace?

Jeeeeez. I gave each kid a couple of books, a small cooler with drinks & veggies, and later, a headphone and tape player. We never had issues when traveling because our expectations were that we would never have issues when traveling.
Parents rule, not kids. Building a video server? C’mon. Isn’t that like killing a housefly with a howitzer?
It’s interesting. We bought a VHS then a DVD player for the van for long trips. But when we dropped the kids off at my parents’ house for vacation, my parents brought them back. No TV. No problems.
You’re right, Sue. It all comes down to who’s in charge.
But in a geeky kind of way, building your own video server is kind of cool.
