First it was Scrabble. We played almost every night. Then we got busy with a little something called work and school (read: lack of sleep), and we didn’t play much anymore.
Now, thanks to Susan’s family, we’ve discovered Pente. Susan’s user name is Vasquez. Mine is nrtechguy.
Let’s play sometime.

I’m ready!
I helped invent Pente (sort of). It was created by a guy in Stillwater. The first version — literally the prototype — sat in Hideaway Pizza for customers to play with. I played Pente with the creator of the game and suggested refinements — none of which were adopted because none were needed. The orginal board was about 25% larger and had a permanent wooden frame. It is a great game to play before, after or during the eating of Pizza. You can still find it at Hideaway, and Eleanor and I play when we are there.
That’s pretty darn cool, Mark! I say, let’s pick a weekend and play.
Game on.
