What gives you Happyness?

Despite our run-in with the tall, stupid and gruesome stranger, we both left “The Pursuit of Happyness” with a profound sense of wondering why bad things happen to good people.

The chemistry between Will Smith and his real-life son Jaden is electric. You can’t help but root for them to find that “happyness” even though despite all the tribulations they must overcome, they don’t lose their happy father-son relationship.

Okay, okay I did drop a tear or two. But darn it, you can’t watch a guy and his son taking it on the chin for a two-hour movie and not feel something for ‘em. From the review: “Tell you what — if he doesn’t get that stockbroker job, the audience will commit mass suicide.”

All in all, it was a good way to spend an afternoon together with someone you love.

“So go, enjoy, have a nice cry and come out feeling better about the world.”

We haven’t seen the movie, yet, but plan to go. I am really looking forward to it!
