When discipline takes a comic turn

It was another outbreak of “not me” syndrome when Camille reported that “someone” had failed to flush the toilet. Herb’s solution? They both do push-ups until someone confesses. It didn’t take long.

“It was me. I forgot,” said Camille.

Abby was freed from push-ups, but Camille, who had committed the offense and then tried to rat out her sister, was instructed to do push-ups until she got tired. Then she had to roll over and do sit-ups.

“You’re just moving your head,” Herb bellowed in best drill instructor fashion. “Use those stomach muscles!”

situps2.jpg“Are you going to call her Mayo-naise next?” I asked.

Well, that pretty much did it. We both tried to cover, but I was laughing so hard my whole body shook. Just about the time Herb got it under control, I added, “I WANT your DOR!!!”

Camille was not amused.

Not punishment. Corrective action. They gain something in the process: strong arms and tummies.
