What happens to the babies who used to be in limbo? – By Michelle Tsai – Slate Magazine
The Vatican announced on Friday the results of a papal investigation of the concept of limbo. Church doctrine now states that unbaptized babies can go to Heaven instead of getting stuck somewhere between heaven and hell. If limbo doesnt exist, what happened to everyone who was supposed to have been there already?
So, now I learn that my eight years of Catholic school that unbaptized babies who die DON’T have go to the holding playpen in between Heaven and Hell?
I had a feelin’….

The salvation of those who cannot cognitively understand their sinful condition or God’s cure is a mystery. It is not clearly revealed to us. But we have shown above that it is possible and has happened with at least David’s son. Beyond that, we must trust the fact that God is not willing that any should perish, but all come to repentance. Part of God’s nature is mercy and He bestows His mercy and His grace on whom He will. Since God is all-knowing, He knows which babies will not have a chance at life outside the womb and if he wishes He can save them like David’s son.
Matthew 28:19 Jesus also said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus himself, was baptized. Fully immersed. If it’s good enough for Him, it’s good enough for me.
Oh dude, don’t get me started. (:
I love reading your posts.
Too tired for religious or philosophical debate on this particular topic, but I’ll pose the question: Should babies be held liable for the sins of their ancestors?
Generational sin is a fact of life. It happens more than not. I see it in my own family with my wife’s father. His Dad beat his wife and it went down the ladder to my wife’s father. It’s up to me and my wife to make sure it stops there. If a man rapes a girl and that girl gets pregnant, that girl has the choice to either abort the child or have the baby. God will not hold that child liable for the father’s sin and neither should society. It was God’s will for that child to be born. There is a god of this age and he is running loose on this earth. God granted us free will to choose, but He also granted us the mental capacity to know right from wrong.
I bet you’re exhausted. The days seem to just be getting crazier and crazier. I smell a BBQ lunch coming soon. Glad you made it back safe.
