It’s not really fibbing if you’re 5 is it?

With Susan at school on Monday nights, I have the pleasure of hanging with the girls, cooking dinner and putting them to bed. This is the perfect opportunity for Camille to “request” one of her passions in life: sleeping with her sister. She hates sleeping alone, but she’s okay if one of us lays down with her until she falls asleep.

She’ll do just about anything to be in the same room with Abby. Hence tonight’s conversation when I was making oatmeal-dried cherry (I didn’t have raisins) cookies.

Camille: Daddy, do I “have” to sleep with Abby tonight?

Me: No.

Camille: Well, can I sleep with Abby tonight?

Me: If she says it’s okay.

Camille: She said it’s okay.

Abby (from the next room): No, I didn’t!!!

Me: Camille?

Sound of Camille’s feet hitting the floor in rapid motion.
