I have a few days off. Then Wednesday I start my new job.
I left the News & Record on Friday late in the day, the next to last time I’ll leave. Monday, I’ll clear out my things.
Wednesday, I’ll start with a fast-growing company located near the airport: Listingbook. The separation had to be quick because my new company is considered a competitor.
What’s Listingbook? Read about us here.
I’m excited. It’s the first time I’ve really stepped outside the cozy confines of the newspaper business. The first time in 23 years, in fact. But I’ve been working hard for the past 11 years to redefine myself, first with a bachelor’s degree in information systems and then with my MBA.
Susan’s excited. The kids? They expressed shock, then proceeded to run around the house and play some more. You gotta love ‘em.
It’s quite a change. More to come.

Congratulations! That’s great news. What are you going to be doing there?

A brief description: “… management and administration of online advertising programs; including but not limited to the scheduling, delivery and measurement of ads …”

Posted 29 Sep 2007 at 7:55 am ¶Congratulations, I guess.
I fear change.
But good for you. Use the few days off to do something productive. Like clean out a closet.

I am honored. No, it won’t get in the way of any golf. In fact, if you’re available, I’ve got a couple of days off next week and we can play then!

Posted 02 Oct 2007 at 9:31 am ¶I was wondering why everything suddenly decided to go offline this week. Now I know why.
Posted 02 Oct 2007 at 8:49 pm ¶Oh, and congratulations.
