Culling two devices - the Moto Razr (left) and the Palm TX - into one: My new little friend, the BlackBerry® 8830 World Edition.
I have no plans to visit the Middle East any time soon. Or even Europe. But I can drop in a SIM card when I do someday.
The phone rocks, as I noted in my Twitter post. The sound quality is great. Push email is awesome, although I wish we had a BlackBerry Enterprise Server solution. The good thing is, our network admin is a big proponent - he’s got the Verizon version - and is interested in moving us in that direction.
It even worked with my Motorola headset.
I must say, the interface takes a little bit to get used to, but I’m very, very happy with it so far, despite the fact I’ve already broken the belt clip and it now resides in my pants pocket until I get a new one.
Oh, and Susan will soon get the Palm to replace her lead-weight Dell Axim. Soon - and not tomorrow - because I’m having trouble giving up playing Solitaire on it.

I have a Treo 700p but am probably prepared to make the jump to Windows on the next device. I tried the Motorola Q but it had surprising drawbacks, including a critical one, limited battery life.

I really, really like the Crackberry even though I never thought I’d want one. My biggest hesitation was that I liked the voice quality of the Motos, but the 8830 is comparable if not better.
