The crucial work of being dad

Children bear the burden when fathers walk out – 02/20/2008 – MiamiHerald.com
… many men choose disinterest, disengagement, disappearance, over the hard, but crucial work of being dad.

Amen, Leonard.

Being a dad was never an ambition in life. It was an act of sharing. An act of giving. Something chosen. A responsibility that was not taken lightly. It’s why I go out of my way to not let them have junk food at every meal. Why I make sure they’re buckled in their seats. Why I sneak in their rooms at night sometimes to kiss their little foreheads and pull the covers up so they won’t get cold.

To paraphrase the Marines: Dads, let’s never leave a child behind.

No matter how you slice it.
    Remember these words Daddy.

    You are “NOT DA MOMMA”
