A couple of thoughts from a 7-year-old

A couple of Camille-isms from the weekend:

I survived a movie Sunday with five girls 10 and under. We paid our dues to help “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” become the No. 1 movie this weekend. During the climax of the film, Blart takes on a host of bad guys. He dispatches one with a helium tank by smashing the nozzle to send it flying into the mid-section the bad guy.

In the somewhat quiet theater, Camille shouts: “Did that just him in the nuts?”

I did manage to get all the popcorn out of my hair after I crawled out from under the seats.

In a second noteworthy exchange that evening, we decided to have family movie night because she wasn’t feeling that well and there was a teacher work day on Monday. We were finishing up the original “Star Wars” trilogy after having seen the first two over the past few weeks.

Camille asks: “Do we see Dark Waiter’s face in this one?” Yes, honey, Darth Vader shows his face.

At least you had a chair to crawl under. I was naked and defenseless in line at church dinner last week when Hooper shouted, “Did you find a job today, Daddy?”
