Our child is warming to warm cereal

The headline of this post begs the question: Why?

Why does Camille now want to eat oatmeal with Mommy and Daddy every morning?

The last part of the question: “…with Mommy and Daddy…” needs to be dissected. She wants to eat it with us during breakfast but she has a special request for how it’s prepared. She doesn’t want to eat Mommy’s oatmeal. She wants to eat Daddy’s oatmeal. Mommy’s oatmeal is “fixed” for Mommy’s taste: A pat of butter and a sprinkle of salt. Daddy’s oatmeal is fixed for Daddy’s taste: A pat of butter and mucho Splenda.

Ah, now I get it.

She doesn’t want the instant oatmeal that has plenty of fruit and sugar in it either. I don’t think mine is that sweet, but …

It’s not the worse thing she could eat. The other option that both seem to be set on right now – they’re very streaky – is a half bagel and Nutella.
