Sax machine

Camille on a very amorous Pippin: “Mommy! Pippin’s trying to have sax with me!”
You’ll be happy to know he hasn’t hit the right note yet. With anyone in the house.

Name that artist

Camille: “I want to listen to the CD by that guy on TV.”
Susan: “What CD?”
Camille: “By that Tom Jerry guy.”
Susan: “Do you mean by the guy during the Super Bowl?”
Camille: “Yes!”
The answer: Tom Petty.
While listening to the CD…
Camille: “Woohoo! Thomas Jefferson!”

A play on a snuffy nose

Camille either has allergies or is catching a little head cold. Of course, this weather doesn’t help. But she’s come up with a little twist on describing her symptoms.
Camille: “Daddy, this nozzle is stopped up.”
Ah, those stopped up nozzles.

Policing the dog

Pippin is a different dog when he takes a walk with the girls. He’s actually excited. When it’s just me or just Susan and especially at night, it’s nearly impossible to get him to go more than a few houses down the block. But get the girls involved, and he’s chompin’ at the bit to [...]

Word of the day

Camille on Pippin’s private parts: “It’s his weenis.”

And now a few words from our sponsor

Sometimes, Camille can say some really profound things. So when she opened breakfast this morning with this amazing observation, we were duly impressed:
Camille: “You know Mommy, you can live alone without being alone.”
We waited for the truth that would set us free. But what came next we didn’t expect.
Camille: “If you have Life Alert.”
We [...]

Stinky poo

It’s working out that the girls are taking to Pippin in their own way. They both like to pick him up kind of like a baby (I wouldn’t let them hold a baby the way they pick him up). They generally keep up with him. They do love him.
Camille tends to be the watchdog, so [...]

Pip, Pip, hooray!

Two days of perfect crate behavior from the little guy. Of course, we’ve been coming home roughly every 2 to 3 hours to let him go pee and poo.
My favorite quotes from the kids so far:
Abby: “Mommy, I think Pippin was meant to be a part of our family.”
Camille: “Mommy, do you love [...]

Bedtime conversation

Me: Camille, if there was only one thing you could have for Christmas, what would it be?
Camille: I’d want to know the secret to Santa’s magic.
Me: Wow. That’s an interesting thought. It might be kind of hard, though.
Camille: Okay. How about a hot tub?

‘The world inside my head’

I was putting Camille to bed last night, and she smiled at me and said, “I wish you could see the world inside my head.”
Wow, I thought. I wish I could, too.
“What it’s like?” I asked. “Is it a nice place?”
“Oh, yes,” she said. “There’s peppermint! And Mommy. And Daddy. And Abby.”
“Wow,” I said. “It [...]

(Not) All she wants for Christmas

Camille’s main item on her Christmas wish list: A hot tub.

This pic, just because…

Just because Camille made me laugh when she put on Abby’s Harry Potter glasses. One day, we’re going to be sitting in a theater in Hollywood watching her accept her Oscar. Drama or comedy, she’s got it.
I especially like the remnants of the meal she just ate on her lips.
